Group History
1st Saughall Scout Group were established in December 1951 - this was opened with just a Scout Troop. We were based at the Church Hall when we first opened. The following year, we opened our Cub Pack. In the sixties, we opened our own Rover Scout Unit, later called Venture Scouts. That section closed in the late eighties.
Unfortunately, due to insufficent leaders, the Scout Troop closed in the early two thousands. Our Beaver Colony however opened in 2010.
Fast forward to 2026, and we have been in a position to reopen our Scout Troop, and open our first Squirrel Drey. We are now a full, four section Scout Group.
There has been quite a change in Scouting since 1951, but 1st Saughall is still passionate about the same values - to provide Skills for Life and lifelong memories for everybody!
